Shazia Mirza, is a native of Birmingham, England, who has sold out shows across the US and Europe with her taboo-breaking, button-pressing, smart, sly, deadpan humor. The London-based comedian grabbed national attention in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks by performing her act in a hijab and beginning with, "My name is Shazia Mirza. At least, that's what it says on my pilot's license." That was the year she won her first award, at the London Comedy Festival.
